| EXPERIENCE Doty & Sons Concrete Products, Inc. has been in the precast concrete business since 1948. We make top quality products that give years of use and are appealing to the eye. Most of these products are our own design, planned for looks, comfort, strength and durability. Because of their heavy weight, they resist vandalism. Products are made of extra strong 5000 PSI reinforced concrete; the exposed aggregate finish has the stones all the way through, nothing is glued on. Many of the products shown online are stock items and can be delivered in a short period of time. We can provide different aggregates and finishes to match individual projects. SPECIFICATIONS Concrete Specifications Sand: Washed torpedo sand. Stone: 3/8" washed gravel. Cement: Very light gray color, 7 to 7 1/2 bags per cubic yard. Water reducers used to increase strength & durability. Chemically entrained air (6-8%) causes concrete to be salt & chloride resistant. Average strength (after 28 days) - 5000 PSI minimum. Concrete cured indoors under plastic cover before exposure to outside air. Expected life of concrete 30 years minimum. Meets ASTM specifications. Reinforcing: Steel rebar or 6 x 6 x 10 gauge wire mesh is used in areas where needed, placed at least 1" away from outside surfaces. Synthetic fibers used as secondary reinforcement when needed. Dome top specifications Standard size 55 gal. galvanized metal domes are used. Dome is Powder coated Chestnut Brown color with polyester paint. A spring loaded retainer cable secures dome to concrete with 1/2" bolt. Plastic dome is available in a silver-gray color. Hinged Lid Specifications Heavy Duty 12 gauge steel with 10 gauge hinge welded with 9 separate welds. Lid is zinc dichromate plated, then Powder coated with Chestnut Brown color polyester paint. Adjustable security cable assembly limits lid opening. Lid is fastened to container with four stainless steel cap screws. Steel lids are preferred because steel is the strongest, yet it has the least salvage value. Powder Coating: Is a polyester powder that is electrostatically applied to the lid, door, or dome; then baked to 450 degrees. Lid Colors: The standard lid color is Chestnut Brown. For special lid colors please give paint manufacturer and color number when ordering. We will then match with available colors offered by powder coating company. Note: we cannot guarantee an exact color match. Call for more information. Ipe (pronounced ee'pay) A South American hardwood, which is extremely durable. It resists rot and insect infestation. It is an exceptional type of wood well suited for benches and other site furnishing applications. The lumber is sealed with a clear sealer. It weathers to a silver-gray color. Recycled Plastic Lumber 90% Recycled HDPE plastic made of recycled milk jugs. Plastic does not absorb moisture, rot, splinter, and remains virtually maintenance free. Lumber color is UV stabilized. Stock colors include Cedar and Weathered Redwood. Other colors that are available by special order: Gray, Brown, Green, and White. Product Warranty Concrete products manufactured by Doty & Sons carry a two year limited warranty from the date of purchase. FINISHES At Doty & Sons, we can customize our products by offering different stone types and colors, colored concrete, and different finishes. Stone Tan blend pea gravel (standard), Burgundy pea gravel, Light gray limestone, granite, and other types by special order. Colors A wide range of colors are available, call for more information. Finishes include: smooth concrete hand rubbed, exposed aggregate in different etches and sandblasted finish. Call for more details. Sealers GLOSS ACRYLIC SEALER ACR1: Enhances the beauty of the stone, resists salt, chloride, and makes graffiti cleanup easier. Gives the stone the "wet look." Two coats applied. A solvent base gloss sealer, used mainly on EX finishes (exposed aggregate), produces deep rich colors in the aggregate. Also available on SB finishes by special order. NON-GLOSS SEALER ACR2: Water Base Non-gloss, clear penetrating, non-visible, water repellent sealers. Generally used when gloss finish is not desired. Two coats applied. Used on EX and SB finishes to provide protection against the elements. SEMI-GLOSS ACRYLIC SEALER ACR3: Water base semi-gloss sealer used on EX and SB finishes to enhance and deepen the color of the finish. click here to view the finishes page SHIPPING Don’t let freight costs scare you! It is not necessary to have unloading equipment on site. If specified when bidding and before delivery, we can ship your order on a liftgate equipped truck. The delivery truck will lower items from the truck to ground level. Setting in place is not included with this service. This service is not available for certain items. Call for more information. |
